Did You Know? The only primarily defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy was Charles Woodson of the Michigan Wolverines in 1997. Woodson would win the award after beating our front runner Peyton Manning of the Tennessee Volunteers. Woodson would primarily play cornerback for the Wolverines while also getting some time at wide receiver and punt returner to add to his resume for Heisman voting.
