However, Mace Windu is seen as the only character in the Star Wars films to use a lightsaber with a purple color. According to George Lucas, Samuel L. Jackson specifically requested for his lightsaber to be in this color. Since it would not affect the story or the character’s background, Lucas allowed Jackson to wield the Mace Windu’s iconic purple lightsaber.
