Did You Know? Ohio State was the top-ranked team in the NCAA in 1961. At the number two ranking was the University of Cincinnati. The two teams would be the only two teams from the same state to play against each other in the Championship game. While Ohio State was the defending champs and the odds-on favorite to win, Cincinnati would end up with the victory, beating the Buckeyes in an overtime game 70-65.
