What bioluminescent creature is known as the ‘sea sparkle’?

Did you know that over 70% of the earth’s bioluminescent creatures are found in the ocean’s depths, lighting up the dark waters like a starry night sky?
These incredible organisms, ranging from tiny plankton to jellyfish and deep-sea fish, produce light through a chemical reaction involving a molecule called luciferin.
This natural glow serves various purposes, such as attracting mates, luring prey, or confusing predators.
In some coastal areas, the phenomenon is so pronounced that waves or footprints in the wet sand can sparkle with a magical blue-green light, thanks to tiny bioluminescent organisms called dinoflagellates.
Next time you’re by the ocean, keep an eye out for nature’s enchanting light show!
