The Founding of the United Nations

Did you know that the founding conference of the United Nations was actually held in San Francisco in 1945, not New York City, where its headquarters are today?
From April 25 to June 26, 1945, delegates from 50 countries gathered at the United Nations Conference on International Organization to draft and sign the United Nations Charter.
This historic meeting took place at the War Memorial Opera House, a location that symbolized peace and cooperation following the devastating effects of World War II.
Remarkably, the conference was wrapped up just two months after the death of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who had been a key advocate for the creation of a new international body for peacekeeping.
The founding of the United Nations marked a pivotal shift towards global collaboration, as nations collectively pledged to work together to prevent further conflicts, promote human rights, and foster social and economic development worldwide.
