Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is a public research university in Bowling Green, Ohio. The 1,338-acre main academic and residential campus is 15 miles south of Toledo, Ohio. The university has nationally recognized programs and research facilities in the natural and social sciences, education, arts, business, health and wellness, humanities and applied technologies.

In 2013, the NFL created the Deacon Jones Award to recognize the season leader in sacks. The award is to honor Deacon Jones who, prior to sacks becoming an official statistic (pre 1982), is unofficially credited as having lead the league in sacks 5 times. Jones is also credited with coining the term quarterback sack.

Annika Charlotta Sörenstam is a Swedish professional golfer. She is regarded as one of the best female golfers in history. In 1840, the first indoor bowling alley opened named Knickerbocker Alleys in New York City. Instead of wood, this indoor alley used clay for the bowling lane. By 1850, there were more than 400 bowling alleys in New York City, which earned it the title “bowling capital of North America”.

Saban led the LSU Tigers to the BCS National Championship in 2003 and the Alabama Crimson Tide to BCS and AP national championships in 2009, 2011, 2012, and College Football Playoff championships in 2015, 2017 and 2020. He has won seven national titles as a head coach, the most in college football history.
