What mountain range formed when India collided with Asia?

Did you know that the majestic Himalayas, the highest mountain range in the world, continue to rise even today?

These towering peaks are the result of a colossal collision between the Indian Plate and the Eurasian Plate, a process that started around 50 million years ago and is still ongoing.

As these plates converge, the immense pressure causes the land to crumple and push upwards, raising the mountains by about 5 millimeters per year.

This dynamic and continuous movement of tectonic plates not only shapes our landscape but also gives birth to earthquakes, volcanic activity, and the creation of ocean basins.

The concept of plate tectonics explains much of Earth’s geological activity and showcases the incredible, ever-changing nature of our planet.
