Did You Know? Jimi Hendrix, hailed as one of the greatest electric guitarists in the history of rock music, was entirely self-taught. Despite his profound impact on music, Hendrix never learned to read or write music. His innovative techniques and explosive performances redefined the electric guitar’s role in rock. Interestingly, although Hendrix was naturally left-handed, he played a right-handed Fender Stratocaster flipped upside down and restrung to accommodate his dominant hand.

Before his fame, Hendrix served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper, but his military career was cut short after he was discharged due to an injury. Moreover, Hendrix’s iconic performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Woodstock became a defining moment of the time, symbolizing the era’s social and political upheaval. Despite his short career, ending at the age of 27, Hendrix’s legacy continues to influence musicians and fans around the world.

and sadly, we have learned after many years, that our evil gov’t. had people like Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones and others killed. We went from the greatest generation after WW II, to the most pitiful kind of cowards in 20 short years

I was there in 1969. He ended Woodstock, early in the morning.
