Famous April Fools’ Pranks That Fooled Millions

Did you know that one of the most famous April Fools’ pranks in history involved the BBC and a spaghetti tree?
On April 1, 1957, the respected British news show “Panorama” aired a segment about a Swiss family harvesting spaghetti from trees.
This was accompanied by footage of women carefully plucking strands of pasta from the branches.
At the time, spaghetti was considered an exotic delicacy in the UK, and many viewers were unaware of its true origins.
Believing the spoof to be real, some even called the BBC, asking how they could grow their own spaghetti trees!
This prank remains a classic example of how a well-crafted joke can blur the lines between reality and fiction, even fooling millions.

There is comething wron with this quiz. I got both questions two a three right, but was told they were the wrong answer. The explaination confirmed that my answers were correct. (I actually remember Carson’s toilet paper comment and the subsequent fallout.
