The history and rules of lesser-known sports like sepak takraw

Did you know that sepak takraw, a sport often described as “kick volleyball,” has origins dating back several centuries in Southeast Asia?
This dynamic game, which combines elements of soccer and volleyball, is played with a rattan ball and is famous for its acrobatic kicks.
Unlike traditional volleyball, players in sepak takraw can only use their feet, knees, chest, and head to touch the ball, making each point a display of agility and skill.
The net stands at approximately 1.55 meters (5 feet) high, and teams consist of three players, known as a “regu.”
In recent years, sepak takraw has gained international recognition, with tournaments held worldwide, showcasing players’ gravity-defying moves and eye-catching plays.
